The first time I walked in to Bishops on NW 21st, I told the guy behind the counter that I wanted a haricut. He said great have a seat, and then proceeded with, would you like a PBR or a Hamm's?
Bishops, The Salon, is opening in August smack dab in the middle of Portland’s Pearl District, brings to Portland state of the art chemical processors, a customized color laboratory, extensive product lines and impeccable personalized service. This ain’t no Barbershop…
Bishops Barbershop’s owner Leo Rivera opened the doors of his first shop in 2001, where locals soon deemed it “Portland’s original rock-n-roll barbershop”. This all encompassing title was exactly the vision Leo had. He wanted to create a place where you can get high salon quality without the pretentiousness in a fast, friendly and culturally progressive environment. Bishops quickly became known for its trend setting hairstylists, edgy music and unrestricted fashion, as well as its support of local artists, musicians and designers.
Just about all Bishops locations are adorned by known local and international artist’s work and it is a well known fact that Bishops can throw a great rock show, fashion show or art show. Bishops also maintains its place in the community by sponsoring non-profit organizations through its own Charity Day.
Although the music may be loud, the walls at times offensive, don’t let the casual atmosphere fool you, there is no mistaking the great customer service and fast services our stylists provide. The Bishops philosophy is based on the idea of offering high-end services at a low price within a client-centered, creative environment.
